wet walk into the city...

nothing like a walk into the city to wear out a mommy and an infant--though Lily is wide awake now and gurgling to her owls (a mobile over her swing)

SO a walk into the city never fails to highlight some of the most frustrating human behavior...before the baby there were plent of idiots that came up on the radar (the group of city street cleaners who walk 4-5 wide across the sidewalk and dont move when you are trying to share that side walk, my personal favorite: the woman who pushed a pregnant lady (me) into the snow bank so she didnt have to walk on the slippery ice etc) but today walking with a stroller demonstrated a whole new version of inconsiderate-ness--people who block the sidewalk ramps!

anyway enough bitching about the city--not a bad walk all in all and the doc appt (for me this time) went well
Lily did great too so that is always a plus
So this last weekend my in-laws (Justin's parents, grandparents and aunt) came to visit...it was a great time and Lily definitely worked hard to ensure good Christmas presents:) She smiled and talked to everyone and had them convinced that she was the most perfect and advanced 5 week old in the world...they wore her out so much that Sat night she actually slept 4 whole hours straight!! it was soooo amazing:)

the newest changes with Lily are that she is gaining weight like crazy (who says breast fed babies cant gain too much weight?!), holding her head and chest up AND trying to stand (yes, she is six weeks old and all she wants to do is be held up on her legs)--the most notable change is that she is much wigglier...so that when I put her in her crib, I never know where I'm going to find her and it takes two hands to hold her when she is wiggling

yesterday was Justin's birthday -- and it passed with very little fanfare ... He and I are going to go out without the baby (for the first time) on Sat evening...i'm a bit nervous about leaving her (not really nervous for her but nervous for my friend who is watching her) but it should be a lot of fun:) I love BYOs in philly

hope everyone has a nice day:)
